“All-in-one” 2.4 GHz broadband wireless solution includes point-to-multipoint and mesh network options

SARASOTA, FL – May 13, 2002 – Wave Wireless Networking, a division of SPEEDCOM Wireless Corporation (Nasdaq: SPWC) and a leading provider of broadband wireless solutions for ISPs, carriers, and private enterprise customers, announced that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has granted formal certification for its SPEEDLAN 9000 product line.

SPEEDLAN 9000 11 Mbps wireless routers offer unsurpassed flexibility in meeting the challenges of designing, building, and managing today’s fixed wireless networks. By allowing the user to choose between a self-healing mesh, point-to-multipoint with a polling base station, or a simple building-to-building deployment, the SPEEDLAN 9000 provides a platform that can grow with a customer’s business and is easily re-deployed as their needs may change.

SPEEDLAN 9000 utilizes AES encryption, to guarantee data security and network integrity, and web based management for ease of use. Additional user benefits can be realized with the Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) server, DHCP client, and Network Address Translation (NAT) functions built in to each unit.

Product Models & Pricing
SPEEDLAN 9000 products are available in a variety of models. SPEEDLAN 9101 and 9104 are mesh-only products used to deploy a mesh network. SPEEDLAN 9102 and 9103 can be configured as a simple building-to-building backbone, a point-to-multipoint “star” topology or as a self-healing mesh topology.
