Just four months earlier, for the migration and upgrade of their SCO Unix Server and computer network, Norcross Supply chose Computer Business Consultants for its past performance of innovative and cost-effective IT solutions and its primary focus on the SCO Unix Server Operating System. In addition to the upgrade and migration to the SCO OpenServer 6 Unix operating system Computer Business Consultants implemented their standard disaster recovery using the Microlite BackupEDGE product. “For less than $10,000 they [Computer Business] installed a disaster prevention and recovery plan. When the fire burned us to the ground their recovery enabled us to be back in business in just 2-days,” said John Walker, President of Norcross Supply.




When the devastating fire of Norcross Supply occurred Computer Business swept into action. Within 2-days a server supplied by Computer Business Consultants was installed and running at the house of Norcross Supply’s owner and the data was restored using Computer Business Consultants, Inc’s disaster recovery with 0% data loss. The server was complete with printer, remote access via the Internet, and networked locally for multi-user capability. This gave Norcross Supply the ability to provide their Insurance Company with an accurate inventory and the ability to continue business.




Just 13-days after the fire Norcross Supply was 100% operational at their new location. According to Clinton Pownall, President of Computer Business Consultants, the commitment Norcross Supply made to implement the Computer Business solution allowed for a successful and very timely recovery. “We provided a customized solution to fit their needs and included our standard disaster recovery complete with offsite backups. Although the circumstances were extremely unfortunate our [disaster recovery] solution proved to be, as it was designed, very efficient and extremely cost effective for our client.” Pownall said.
