SmartDisk Scanners Debut at Ritz Camera Centers

Naples, Fla., October 10, 2002 – SmartDisk (NASDAQ: SMDK) announced today that its two new Mac- and Windows-compatible film scanners are now available at Ritz Camera Center’s top 200 stores nationwide. SmartDisk’s “SmartScan” scanners are designed to easily convert film strips, negatives, and mounted slides to high-resolution digital images at affordable prices. In addition to the new SmartScan scanners, Ritz also carries the SmartDisk USB Universal Reader and Flash Media Readers.

Intended for use at home, at school or in the office, SmartScan 2700 offers one-touch scanning for consumers, prosumers and SOHO users who have USB connectivity on their PCs or Macintosh computers. For graphic designers or professionals, SmartScan 3600 offers superior quality and automated features, with both IEEE 1394 (FireWire) and USB connectivity.

Pricing and Availability
The suggested retail price for the SmartScan 2700 is $249.99; the SmartScan 3600 is priced at $499.99. Both models are available this week nationwide.
