SYS-TEC Corporation to Resell AirFortress™ WLAN Security Solution

TAMPA, JULY 1, 2002 – Fortress Technologies, a leading global provider of infrastructure security solutions for 802.11 wireless networks, has entered into a reseller agreement with
SYS-TEC Corporation, a leading technology integrator utilizing next-generation bar code
data collection systems.

The suburban Detroit, Mich.-based SYS-TEC specializes in Automated Data Collection (ADC) solutions for warehouse and inventory management and shop floor control. SYS-TEC will install the AirFortress suite of wireless infrastructure security products to prevent unauthorized access to 802.11 networks that transmit data from hand-held bar code scanners.

“We tested and benchmarked many network security solutions before deciding on the ‘Fortress Select’ reseller program,” said SYS-TEC director of sales Tom Aprill. “Fortress’ product met the highest security standards and its design enables us to deploy it without disruption of wireless networks that are already in place and operational.”

AirFortress, which recently was selected for deployment as the wireless security component in the U.S. Army’s combat support network infrastructure, is comprised of:

 Wireless Security Gateways, which are full-featured security appliances that enforce network access rights and encrypt/decrypt communication across the WLAN, while increasing performance.

 Secure Client, a software client that encrypts/decrypts communication across WLANs and protects the wireless devices against attacks. The client supports bar scanners, PDAs, laptops and integrated wireless devices, across various operating systems.

 Access Control Server (ACS), a software application database designed to monitor and manage the authentication and access control of wireless clients.

The “Fortress Select” program provides authorized value-added resellers (VARs) with broad product and marketing support. The program includes technical and sales training, an aggressive discount structure, co-op marketing funds, special pricing on demo hardware, joint promotions and exposure on the Fortress Website.
