South Florida Tech Alliance Spotlights Web Services, July 18

MIAMI/BOCA RATON, JUNE 11, 2002 – The South Florida Technology Alliance today announced that it has signed Tom Yager, Test Center technical director and columnist for InfoWorld magazine, to keynote a special 90-minute program on Web services, Thursday, July 18.
“Making Sense of Web Services” will be held at Florida International University, North Campus’ Koven’s Center, NE 151st Street and Biscayne Blvd. in North Miami. Registration and networking reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $30 for non-members and $15 for South Florida Technology Alliance members.
The special presentation looks at the innovative new application development method being hailed for its cost-savings opportunities and ability to spawn new business models.
Mr. Yager will share his insights into the new technology infrastructure, based on research conducted by InfoWorld, which provides in-depth technical analysis on key products, solutions, and technologies and the latest breaking news and in-depth coverage for business IT decision makers.
The South Florida Technology Alliance also has issued invitations to IT managers at leading regional companies that are Web-services enabling applications to appear alongside Mr. Yager.
“This important program is designed to shed light on Web services and how it can benefit businesses seeking internal and external applications that are interconnected, open and cost effective,” said Margaret Grisdela, co-president, South Florida Technology Alliance.
“Mr. Yager has held positions during his career as an applications development architect, project leader and programmer. He’s also written hundreds of reviews and feature articles for leading industry publications.
