Tampa Bay Technology Forum and TechVillage Tampa Bay to Screen Applicants for “First Outside Money” Conference

TAMPA, Fla. – (May 31, 2002) – The Tampa Bay Technology Forum and TechVillage Tampa Bay will screen Bay Area applicant companies for the Innovation Florida 2002 – Early Stage Capital Raising Conference, to be held Wednesday, Sept. 18, in Orlando.

“This annual venture capital conference showcases Florida’s hottest emerging growth technology companies seeking ‘first outside money,’” says Marty Donsky, board member of both the Tampa Bay Technology Forum and TechVillage and a representative of PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the lead sponsoring organizations. “It will feature 16- 20 promising high growth Florida companies before a national audience of venture capitalists, investment bankers and individual investors.”

Applicants from the eight-county area of Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sumter counties must meet the following criteria:
·Candidate companies must be technology-based.
·Companies must be headquartered in Florida.
·Companies must be capable of achieving $25 million in revenue after five years of growth.
·Companies must have a minimum of $250,000 in prior investment or cash flow.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m., Monday, June 10. Applications must be submitted to:
