Retrieval Dynamics Debuts Wireless Sales Force Automation Solution

'GoFigure' provides e-mail and fax SFA solution for small and medium sized companies
ATLANTA, April 30 -- Retrieval Dynamics Corp. (RDC), a wireless solutions provider for the enterprise, today introduced GoFigure Enterprise Edition, a unique wireless Java application for the innovative BlackBerrry 5810 handheld from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSE: RIM). Unveiled at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium hosted by RIM, GoFigure provides an easy-to-use and economical way for small and medium sized businesses to access corporate data while on the road.
GoFigure Enterprise Edition provides sales professionals with a powerful multi-function tool for creating documents, issuing quotations on-the-spot, checking inventories, receiving immediate sales promotions, and accessing and transmitting time-critical corporate information through the lightweight BlackBerry Wireless Handheld with integrated data and voice capabilities.
RDC offers a complete GoFigure solution that includes installing and configuring the application, and providing ongoing customer support.
“We are committing our development resources to support enterprise-class software applications designed for BlackBerry, which has become one of the most popular and successful corporate wireless productivity tools,” said John Harkola, CEO of RDC. "The BlackBerry 5810 and GoFigure work great together because both can be easily used by corporations without excessive support from large IT departments," Harkola said.
GoFigure's features include:
·Checking pricing and inventory on any products or items in corporate databases
·Generating sales quotations for specific customers that can be sent real-time via fax or e-mail from the BlackBerry Wireless Handheld
·Integrating with supply chain management software to provide or obtain lead-times and quantities of back ordered items
·Ability to quote multi-product pricing
·Calculating multiple items with applicable discounts
·Viewing company- or product-wide sales promotions and receiving instant alerts when
new sales promotions and special offers are released to the field
·Transmitting company or product literature via e-mail or fax
·Viewing product descriptions
·Obtaining summaries of previous quotations and literature distribution
The GoFigure Enterprise Edition solution is targeted at manufacturing, distribution, construction and service industries. GoFigure will be available in June and will be sold in either an ASP solution or as an enterprise server package with an annual per seat license and maintenance fee.
Java offers specific advantages for wireless users. It enables users to store information on the handheld without having to access a wireless network every time the same information is needed. Java also provides a feature-rich and open development platform for creating new applications.
"GoFigure Enterprise Edition is RDC's first J2ME application written specifically for the new BlackBerry 5810 handheld which is being sold by cellular operators in North America," said David Rippetoe, director of business development at RDC.
