CYBERGUARD WINS ACADEMY AWARD AT INFOSECURITY 2002 IN LONDON

Lauderdale, Fla., and London, UK – April 24, 2002 – CyberGuard Corporation (OTCBB: CYBG), the technology leader in network security, today announced that the company's line of premium firewall/VPN appliances has earned the "Academy Award” for best firewall solution at the Sixth Annual Awards for SC Magazine presented in conjunction with Infosecurity 2002, a large information technology conference held each year in London.

CyberGuard’s appliance line was one of five finalists in the category, which included Check Point’s Firewall 1, the NetScreen-200, Secure Computing’s Sidewinder and Symantec’s Enterprise Firewall.

The awards, which are given in 21 information security-related categories, are decided by academy members who are IT professionals working in corporate organizations. Because of their real-world experience, they understand the scale of problems faced by large organizations and recognize the potential for major disasters arising from security breaches. They based their decisions for category winners on security solutions that best suit the needs of corporate organizations.

In March, CyberGuard’s KS (KnightSTAR) premium firewall/VPN appliance won the “Best in Show” award for new technology for its innovation, value and importance to the federal market at FOSE 2002, a large government IT conference sponsored by the Post Newsweek Tech Media Group.
