Enterprise Development Corporation Hires New Executive Director
Organization Taps Local Emerging Technology Professional for Top Position

Boca Raton, FL - March 20, 2002 - The Enterprise Development Corporation (EDC), a public/private partnership specializing in providing strategic business development services to emerging science and technology companies, announced today that Jane Teague has joined the organization, filling the Executive Director position which has been vacant since the end of last year. Teague, formerly Vice President of HighGround, Inc., has been a member of EDC’s Board of Directors, and is actively involved in promoting South Florida as a center for science and technology excellence.

“Teague is well-known for her commitment to the growth of South Florida’s emerging science and technology community, and we are delighted that she has accepted the role of Executive Director for EDC,” stated Mark Margulies, Partner, Grant Thornton and EDC’s Chairman of the Board. “Our main objective was to find someone who understood our organization and its mission, who was also knowledgeable about the technology sector and involved in the local business community. Teague has broad experience on all of these fronts, and we look forward to her leadership on behalf of EDC.”

Teague had been with HighGround, Inc., a provider of public relations and marketing support for emerging technology, since the company’s founding in 1993. As an EDC board member, she has attracted new members and community support for the organization while representing EDC throughout the state. She has supported the InternetCoast initiative, helping to brand South Florida as a global center for high-technology excellence, and has served on a number of committees dedicated to the growth of the region. She has also supported initiatives on behalf of Central Florida Innovation Center (CFIC) in Orlando, the Florida Venture Forum, The South Florida Technology Forum, The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) in Raleigh, NC, and other regional organizations devoted to the growth of the high-technology sector.

Prior to joining HighGround, Teague worked at Dun & Bradstreet Software, a leading provider of enterprise software applications to the “Fortune 500”. While there from 1986 through 1992, she held a number of marketing positions and gained vast experience across all major industry segments. Teague is a graduate of McGill University, Montreal, Quebec.
