Ralph Lauren Childrenswear Licensee Selects Web-based Supply Chain Management System Developed by New Generation Computing
MIAMI, Feb. 20, 2002 – New Generation Computing Inc. today announced that S. Schwab Company, the sole licensee for Ralph Lauren Childrenswear®, has selected New Generation's Internet-based supply chain management software, e-SPS, to streamline and manage its sourcing, production and delivery process worldwide. S. Schwab plans to deploy e-SPS in March 2002.
e-SPS will be installed at S. Schwab’s headquarters in Cumberland, Md., and will be accessible to the company’s global partners and contractors via an Internet connection. With e-SPS, S. Schwab plans to streamline the entire process for its clothing lines, from vendor selection to placing an order, through production and final delivery to the distribution center. In addition, the Web-based software will help S. Schwab to better manage its global communications and collaboration procedures and enable the company to view the entire production process in real time.
"We are excited about the immediate benefits we believe S. Schwab will receive from its implementation of our comprehensive e-SPS suite of products for Ralph Lauren Childrenswear,” said Alan Brooks, president of New Generation Computing. “The technology is helping the company to reduce its global communication costs, analyze and collaborate with its partners and increase its on-time deliveries. Ultimately, we believe this will benefit the company’s bottom line.”
Headquartered in Cumberland, Md., S. Schwab has offices in New York, Dallas, Martinsburg, W. Va., Hong Kong, Mexico and Colombia. The company manufactures and distributes the Little Me and Ralph Lauren Childrenswear lines that include playwear, sleepwear and licensed products. The company maintains about 3,000 better specialty and department store accounts throughout North America, including Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman-Marcus, Macy's and Nordstrom.
