KAREN FREDRICKS TO WRITE SugarCRM For Dummies BOOK

CRM consultant and trainer, Karen Fredricks, was selected by Wiley Publishing to write SugarCRM For Dummies, a $24.99 paperback scheduled for publication in October, 2009.
John Wiley Publishing chose Karen Fredricks to write the book following the success of her nine previous For Dummies titles, all of which are available at all major book retailers. She specializes in CRM and Contact Management software and has written titles on Outlook, Outlook Business Contact Manager, Microsoft Office Live and ACT!.
SugarCRM is an open source CRM database software program. It provides calendar, contact and communications functionality as well as sales tools and reporting capabilities. SugarCRM comes in three flavors: the free Community Edition, SugarCRM Professional and SugarCRM Enterprise. A browser-based product, users can either have the software hosted, or host it themselves on their own web-servers.
Fredricks said she didn’t have to change her style much to explain the software. "The For Dummies books have been so successful because of the foolproof formula developed by Wiley," said Fredricks. "This approach is so similar to my own instructional style that writing this book was both a rewarding and fun project."
According to Fredricks, “Writing this book posed a variety of challenges. The content had to be highly focused and triple checked for items such as grammar, accuracy, explanation of acronyms, and ease of use by the reader. In addition, the presentation had to include enough humor to provide an enjoyable reading experience while providing instruction regarding the use of highly technical content.”

Fredricks has over 20 years of CRM consulting and training experience in South Florida, during which time she has acquired in-depth expertise in the operational requirements of a broad spectrum of businesses.
