Tampa Headquartered GCA Completes Identity Management Project for Momentive Performance Materials

GCA, a leading provider of technology infrastructure solutions, recently completed an Identity Management project for Momentive Performance Materials (previously GE Silicones). Momentive is a $4B company that was previously owned by GE and sold to a private equity group over a year ago. As part of the separation, Momentive had very specific deadlines to separate their IT resources from those provided by GE and stand on their own. The challenge was such that GCA had to establish a baseline IDM (Identity Management) environment that essentially replaced the provisioning, single sign-on, and user services previously provided by GE. The fact that Momentive had not yet established their HR environment or had not completely migrated all of their web applications over to their new domain were just a few of the hurdles that were handled during what has proven to be a highly successful deployment.

This project implemented the following products in Sun’s Identity Management Suite:

- Identity Manager (account provisioning/deprovisioning)

- Access Manager (single sign-on)

- Directory Server (identity store and universal authentication)

- Web Server (Reverse Proxy)

- Application Server (web container for the IDM applications)
