Americas Software Signs Contract with Banco Popular for Installation of Anti-Money Laundering Software in North America

MIAMI, Sept. 25, 2002 – Americas Software today announced it has expanded its existing relationship with Popular Inc., a bank holding company with more than $28 billion in assets, and signed a contract to install its ASSIST//ck® anti-money laundering and regulatory compliance software at Banco Popular North America, the largest Hispanic bank in the United States.

The installation of ASSIST//ck at Banco Popular North America will enable the bank to automate the detection, investigation and reporting of money-laundering activities, and help the institution meet the compliance regulations established by the USA PATRIOT Act. Since 2000, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, the largest bank in Puerto Rico, has relied on ASSIST//ck for its compliance needs.
