Apple Participates in Gulf Coast Technology Summit and Expo Apple Makes Digital Lifestyle Easier For Graphic Artists and Others
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The second annual Gulf Coast Technology Summit and Exposition has announced its newest participant. Apple Computer will present seminars introducing a new operating system and familiarizing individuals with innovative applications.
Dave Brightbill, board member of the Apple Consultants Network, and Mike Kozee, Development Executive for Apple Computer, will introduce users to an operating system called Mac OS X v10.2. Referred to by its code name, Jaguar, this operating system is of a different breed. It combines the ease of Macintosh use with the reliability of UNIX.
Whether you’re a Mac user who’s upgrading, a Windows user who’s looking to switch to the Mac or a UNIX user who loves the idea of using key applications like Microsoft Office on top of a state of the art BSD UNIX implementation, Jaguar may be for you.
Another Apple seminar lined up for the Summit helps familiarize users with free, innovative applications known as the iApps, which make business communications, classroom educational projects or personal storytelling a breeze for the Apple user.
Every Macintosh today is equipped with iApps. The different applications include iPhoto to help enhance photos, iMovie to aid in making movies, iTunes to help organize music and iDVD to output your interactive content. Learn how to utilize these applications and make your digital lifestyle easier.
“This will be a real draw for Graphic Artists in the area, as many of us use Macs,” said Mason Guttery of Scarborough Consulting, the company producing the Summit. “I’m excited that they’ll be represented at the Summit this year.”
The Summit has attracted several national competitors to date. The VIP Reception keynote speaker, Alan Nugent, is the Sr. Vice President and CTO of Novell Corporation. Microsoft has recently joined in as well presenting seminars on .NET applications for business.
About the Summit In its second year, the Gulf Coast Technology Summit and Exposition is the only show from New Orleans to Jacksonville that spotlights IT capabilities of companies in the Gulf Coast Region. Held at the Pensacola Civic Center Sept. 25-27, the Summit is expected to attract more than 3,000 attendees, 80 exhibitors and will feature 40 seminars given by professionals in a variety of technology fields.
